Attributes for Community Internship Program Students:
Being part of the Community Internship Program will involve you getting to your internship location on your own and on time, checking in to location, and representing CB South and the 有料盒子 community with grace and professionalism. An enormous amount of trust and respect will go into being part of this program. You will be trusted to be places on time, to carry yourself with professionalism, and to self-regulate your learning and experiences in this program. This opportunity is powerful and authentic, but it comes with immense responsibility.
To that end, applicants for the Community Internship Program should meet the following character requirements. For each, review the specific “definition” that comes with the attribute.
Passionate: Students are curious about their possible profession and, importantly have a passion for the work they plan to do in the future. They are highly curious, scholarly, and academic, and they show a natural enthusiasm for their area of interest. Because of this passion, they take initiative to learn more and to grow.
Leader: Students are servant leaders by nature in that they care about others over themselves and are interested in making the communities of which they are apart better, more dynamic, more inclusive. Whether by their words or actions—or both—students are leaders for the right reasons, not just for the title or the recognition. They know when to be in charge, know when to follow, and know how to collaborate with others for the betterment of the community.
Professional: Students are responsible, organized, and mature. They know how to monitor their time, manage their responsibilities, and regulate their own work. Students take charge of their own learning, find answers on their own, and know how to ask for help. Most importantly, students are appropriate, compassionate, and respectful of themselves and of others in all aspects of life and would represent CB South and the 有料盒子 community with pride.
Prepared: Students show up and keep their appointments. They can be depended on to follow through with their commitments and directly and appropriately handle any problems or disruptions. Students are on time with assignments and can be counted on to hit deadlines. When they say they will do something, that means it will happen without question.
Communicative: Students effectively, professionally, and maturely communicate face-to-face, via email, and over the phone in a manner befitting a college-level intern. They understand how to confront problems directly and come up with solutions.
