Our Policies

  • Our policies are meant to ensure professionalism, academic honesty, and respect for your time and the time our tutors spend with you!

    South Writing Center Policies

Cancellation/No-show Policy: If an appointment needs to be canceled for any reason it may be canceled by 7:25 the morning of the appointment with no repercussions. If the appointment is not canceled and you do not attend the appointment, or are more than 10 minutes late, it will be considered a no-show and your tutor will no longer be available. Each no-show may result in a point deduction on your assignment, to be determined by your teacher. Two cumulative no-shows will result in a suspension of the ability to make appointments, but will not suspend you from making walk-in appointments.

Walk-in Policy: Anyone may come to the writing center with no forewarning during lunch and learn for help on an assignment. If there is a tutor available for walk-in appointments, they may be able assist you. These appointments are typically only 20 minutes, but proof of the appointment can still be provided to your teacher, with any benefits a regularly scheduled appointment would have. However, if no tutor is available, you may not be able to make an appointment and receive help.

Raffle Policy: At the completion of each appointment in the Writing Center you will receive a ticket to enter our quarterly drawing. You may enter once for each session you attend, with each session increasing your writing skills and your odds of winning. Once per marking period we will draw a few winners and reach out via email to alert you of your prize.

By scheduling an appointment in the Writing Center, you accept the terms and conditions thereof including all of the policies above.

We are happy to assist you this year and look forward to working with you. If you have any issues making appointments on the WCOnline, please stop in to see one of our directors
